Lake Valley Camp is a 10-year youth development organization whose mission is to increase the chance for success of high potential youth from risk-filled environments. The ultimate goal is for participants to leave the program better prepared for education beyond high school and the workplace. Each Lake Valley Camp program targets critical areas of development that are too often lacking in young people when they graduate from high school:
1. The ability to set and work with determination towards life goals.
2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to live and work with diverse people.
3. Discipline and a strong work ethic.
4. Confidence and a positive self-image.
Participants enter the program at age 7 and progress through the program until graduation from high school. Lake Valley Camp holds its participants to very high expectations, and they are invited to return each year if they meet these expectations. Success does not happen alone, and therefore we work closely with families, schools and the community to guide participants in reaching their goals.
Upon completion of the 10-year program, high school graduates are invited to apply for seasonal employment positions with Lake Valley Camp.

Our values take shape through the Four Beliefs, which are woven throughout the culture, program, staff, and participants of Lake Valley Camp.
Everyone has inherent value.
Everyone has the power to change their world.
3. The community is better if everyone contributes.
We can only grow if we are honest about our mistakes.
