Two Locations, Best of Both Worlds
Every year, hundreds of young people from the city of Milwaukee access LVC’s year-round programs, taking place locally in and around the city of Milwaukee, at our 650-acre resident camp in the rolling hills of western Wisconsin, and on the lakes, rivers roads, and trails across the state of Wisconsin and beyond. This diversity in setting for program delivery gives our young people an opportunity to explore and engage with the world around them in intentional and reflective ways. It also allows escape from everyday stresses and gives them space to better understand who they are as individuals, to define their convictions and values, and to experience what they are truly capable of achieving while setting goals and working through challenges.
Resident Camp is located 150 miles west of Milwaukee near Boscobel, WI and is comprised of 650 acres of hills, forests, creeks and a beautiful lake. Facilities on the property include the dining hall and staff offices, program pavilion, pool, soccer field, staff retreat, horse barn, garden center and participant cabins. Summer programming and school year retreats at Resident Camp provide opportunities for experiential learning with people of diverse backgrounds in a unique natural setting.
The Milwaukee Program Center is located in Tiefenthaler Park and features an outdoor playground, basketball courts, a raised bed garden, a kitchen, two floors of program space, and annual staff offices. The center is home to the summer Day Camp program for Pathfinders (ages 7-8) Theater Camp for Pioneers (ages 9-11) and Voyagers (ages 12-14), school year programming and hosts several family events throughout the year. Programming at the center focuses on teaching, inspiring, and providing tools for youth to become leaders in their own Milwaukee communities.
