What you like to do in your free time: I love to spend my time with my family and our dog Marley. I am also an avid fish collector and currently own 6 aquariums. I eat, breath and sleep Hip Hop, but also love to write poetry/short stories. During the summer I usually spend my time hiking, camping or carving my very own walking sticks. I also love making fluffy and delicious pancakes in all assortments.
How did you get started working with non-profits?
I have been involved with Non-profits since the tender age of 3 when my Mother decided to sign me up for a program that was hosted by our neighborhood organization called The Settlement House. Throughout my adolescent years I was able to partake in many different programs that the Settlement house offered from head start to summer camp there were many opportunities extended my way that fully benefited my future in many ways. I was able to see first hand how much the Settlement house provided hope and resources for families/children of need. The Settlement house was and still is a pillar of strength in the community and because of this I am forever committed to being an advocate of inner city youth.
After running two other residential camps that are very similar to LVC my journey of serving inner city youth brought me back to Wisconsin and I was given the honor of taking on the role of Director of Camp Programs. My life’s passion has and always will be serving our families/youth of need as that is what makes me complete…..
