I am responsible for providing our participants and staff a clean, safe and natural environment at resident camp. I ensure that all buildings and grounds are maintained, the property is ready for summer programs, winterized and closed up for the off season. I also oversee new building projects and manage the relationships and all work on the grounds with LVC contractors and vendors. During the summer months my assistant and I take care of day to day repair requests as well as all the staff and campers needs. During the winter months occasionally I can be found at the Milwaukee office for staff meetings or tending to maintenance needs. At resident camp, this is the time I spend catching up on maintenance projects, inventory and planning for the upcoming camp season.
Hometown: Menomonee Falls, WI
Inspirations: My wife Linda, my parents, sitting in a tree stand, my grandchildren, being on the open road on my motorcycle.
What you like to do in your free time: I enjoy riding my Harley Davidson on a sunny afternoon with my wife or sitting in a tree stand on a crisp fall day. I cherish the time I get to spend with my daughters and grandchildren. I enjoy updating and remodeling my farm house, helping out my mother and cooking. I really enjoy working with my hands whether it’s building or fixing something.
How did you get started working with non-profits? Lake Valley Camp is my first connection with the non-profit world. I am honored to be part of such a dedicated team and am proud of the impact that LVC creates for our Milwaukee youth.
With LVC? My wife and I were looking for property and employment in Southwest Wisconsin before I even knew about Lake Valley Camp. A coworker of mine informed me about a maintenance position available at a childrens camp in that area. After touring the facility and grounds I was hooked. I am fortunate enough to have a wife that enjoys this area and the outdoors it has to offer.
