ANNUAL STAFF BIOS
Director of Urban Programs
It’s my job to ensure our MKE-based programming is amazing and meets the needs of our youth and families.
Hometown: Milwaukee, WI
Inspirations: Being outdoors
What you like to do in your free time: hanging out with my husband, my mother and my daughters, having impromptu dance parties, reading, writing and walking.
How did you get started working with non-profits? With LVC?
One of my first jobs as a teenager was working at summer school for the Milwaukee Rec Department. I was hooked! Over the years, I have worked in nearly every aspect of a youth serving organization, from developing and leading programs to finance and human resources to teaching in the classroom. We can only grow if we’re honest about our mistakes is the LVC foundational belief that resonates most with me. I once had a professor tell me, “If you’re not confused, you’re not learning.” The idea that has stuck with me. I believe that seeking out challenges that are beyond your current capacity and using your inevitable mistakes as a stepping stone is the best way to learn and grow. As an LVC team member, I hope to contribute to a space where youth and staff alike are able to stretch themselves by seeking out new experiences and supporting each other as we strive to be our best selves.
