Teangelo Cargile

Senior Urban Programs Coordinator

I am responsible for leading and co-facilitating activities and lessons for all ages. I serve as the lead teacher for summer day camps: implement lessons and activities according to written curricula, and ensure that programming stays on course. I also support the preparation for programming, coordinating activities and reservations with community partners, chaperoning field-trips associated with various  programs, and I drive the Lake Valley Camp vans to transport program participants to and from activities and programming.

Hometown: Milwaukee, WI

Inspirations: My girlfriend, Malcolm X, and my  fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

What you like to do in your free time: I enjoy running outside and exercising with my personal trainer, watching anime, reading political commentary, and  I enjoy spending time playing with my Playstation 4 (lol).

How did you get started working with nonprofits? I started out volunteering as a junior in high school with Milwaukee Area Health Education Center in their Youth Health Service Program. Through their leadership and mentorship they lead me into this work and I have been in it for the past six years.

With LVC?  I was looking for an employer that recognized the work that was needed in raising up our Milwaukee community. After meeting with Dan on the subject of diversity at Lake Valley Camp, and then Demetria, I recognized that this organization was working on making that difference in Milwaukee.
