Assistant Director of Camp Programs
I am known to have the second pair of wide open eyes at Residential Camp. I am responsible for making sure that Residential Camp is being ran smoothly in the absence of the Director. I oversee programming in making sure that is being executed with enthusiasm and drive while also ensuring that our young people remain safe while participating. During the Summer, I am in full throttle camp mode. In the off season, I am responsible for recruiting over 50+ seasonal staff for the upcoming season and recruiting for our seasonal retreats.

How did you get started working with non-profits? I started working at a camp called Camp Rosenthal via Chicago Youth Centers. In 2014, I was hired as a Cabin Counselor. I wanted to give back to youth by letting them know that their present circumstances don’t have the power to determine their destiny. Having the opportunity to work with inner city youth from the streets of Chicago was enough motivation to keep impacting youth that have a similar story such as mine. So often children from the inner city streets of any city are stereotyped but I am their voice of encouragement, motivation, and I strive to make them believe that they are possible and that ALL of their dreams can come true.
With LVC? Mr. Adam introduced me to this organization last Summer. After experiencing some personal impacts of my own, I decided that my work wasn’t done and I wanted even more experiences through Lake Valley Camp.
