Supporting Youth

A child’s potential should not be limited by their circumstance, and we firmly believe that our youth have the right to be involved in activities and pursuits that nurture their spirit and support their passion. This is why LVC works tirelessly to ensure that our young people have access to purpose-driven, experience-based programs, facilitated by highly-skilled professionals who are firmly invested in their positive development and well-being.

Lake Valley Camp (LVC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served and supported thousands of young people from the city of Milwaukee since our founding in 2002. Learn more here.

Meet Joanna

“Lake Valley Camp is a place of complete acceptance and open-mindedness. I hope the impact I made on my campers is even a fraction of the impact they have made on me. LVC’s year-round programming demonstrates the true dedication it has to youth and its sincere desire to mentor and play a positive role in their lives. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing organization!”

Meet Mario

“Lake Valley Camp has always been a very significant part of my life. For the last six years of my life Lake Valley Camp served as a place for me to escape the troublesome inner-city, develop a spirit of leadership, value and respect, and prepare me for a brighter future. It has shaped me into a positive role model for younger youth and my peers. The impact LVC has on my life is tremendous.”

Participant 2004-2008, Summer Counselor 2009-2011

Meet Cammy

"When it comes to skills that I want to teach... I would like to teach the campers basic soccer skills/rules. I would also like to teach the campers to have a positive mindset for their day to day life. For the Summer 2017 season, my goals are to keep as many people as possible with a smile on their face for the entire summer and to motivate others when needed."
